About the Role

Our client, a leading innovator in controlled environment agriculture, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Head of High-Tech Greenhouse Production for its operations in Zapopan, Jalisco . This senior role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of greenhouse operations, ensuring maximum crop yield, quality, and efficiency through the application of cutting-edge technology. The adecuado candidate will have extensive experience in managing large-scale, technologically advanced greenhouses, including climate control, irrigation, lighting, and automation systems. This is a critical leadership position within our organization, focused on driving excellence in modern agricultural production in the heart of Jalisco .

Key Responsibilities

- Manage daily operations of high-tech greenhouses, ensuring optimal growing conditions for a variety of crops.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of advanced climate control, fertigation, and lighting systems.
- Develop and execute production plans to meet yield, quality, and cost targets.
- Lead, train, and manage a team of greenhouse technicians, growers, and operational staff.
- Monitor crop health, identify potential issues, and implement timely corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards within the greenhouse facilities.
- Collaborate with research and development teams to test and integrate new technologies and growing strategies.
- Manage inventory of supplies, nutrients, and other operational inputs.
- Analyze production data and generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs).




- Optimize resource utilization (water, energy, nutrients) for cost-effectiveness and sustainability.

Requirements

- Degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant Science, or a related field.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in greenhouse management, with a strong focus on high-tech operations.
- Proven expertise in environmental control systems (HVAC, CO2, humidity), hydroponics/aeroponics, and LED lighting.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing diverse teams.
- Strong understanding of plant physiology, crop nutrition, and pest/disease management in controlled environments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with greenhouse automation software and data management systems.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends, based on operational needs in Zapopan .
- Experience with international standards and certifications in agriculture is a plus.
