About the Role

Our client, a leader in ethical AI development, is seeking a highly motivated Researcher specializing in Explainable AI (XAI) and Algorithmic Ethics. This position is fully remote, allowing you to contribute to our mission from anywhere in Mexico, with a conceptual link to our operations in Zapopan, Jalisco . You will play a crucial role in developing methodologies and tools to ensure AI systems are transparent, interpretable, fair, and accountable. Key Responsibilities

- Conduct research on techniques and frameworks for Explainable AI (XAI).
- Develop methods to interpret and understand the decision-making processes of complex AI models (e.g., deep neural networks).
- Investigate and address issues of fairness, bias, and accountability in AI algorithms.
- Design and implement evaluation metrics for XAI and AI ethics.
- Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to integrate explainability and ethical considerations into AI development pipelines.
- Publish research findings in top-tier AI conferences and journals.
- Develop best practices and guidelines for ethical AI development and deployment.
- Stay current with the latest research and developments in XAI, AI ethics, and responsible AI.
- Communicate research outcomes and recommendations to internal teams and external stakeholders.




- Contribute to building internal expertise and external reputation in AI ethics and explainability.

Requirements

- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field with a specialization in XAI or AI Ethics.
- Proven research experience (4+ years) in Explainable AI, AI fairness, or algorithmic transparency.
- Strong theoretical understanding of machine learning algorithms and deep learning architectures.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python and relevant ML/XAI libraries (e.g., SHAP, LIME, Captum).
- Familiarity with evaluating AI model fairness and identifying potential biases.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, vital for remote collaboration and academic publication.
- Ability to work independently, manage research projects, and thrive in a remote setting.
- Experience in developing practical tools or frameworks for XAI is a significant plus.
- Commitment to promoting ethical principles in AI development.
