Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer with demonstrated experience developing and implementing automated testing solutions for enterprise-grade commercial software over multiple years.

This individual will be responsible for owning quality assurance strategy, test automation framework development, API testing, and release validation for complex enterprise software applications.

The engineering team develops new product features within an existing enterprise web platform built on micro-frontend architecture and TypeScript technologies. The team is also developing agent-based workflow automation capabilities, requiring comprehensive testing strategies for both traditional software applications and AI-powered workflows.

A key priority is hands-on experience using AI tools for software development and test automation. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they incorporate AI into their development workflows, including walking through actual pull requests, explaining how AI was used, and describing how generated code was reviewed, validated, and improved.

Experience building AI agents or testing LLM-powered applications is a bonus but is not required.

Key Responsibilities

- Own quality assurance strategy, test planning, risk assessment, test design, automation development, and release validation for enterprise software applications.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable end-to-end test automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript.
- Build automated testing solutions using Page Object Model (POM), fixtures, and reusable test components.
- Develop component and integration tests using Vitest or Jest and React Testing Library.
- Perform API testing for REST and RPC services, including contract validation, error handling, permissions, authentication, and multi-tenant data scoping.
- Write SQL queries to prepare test data, validate database changes, and verify data integrity.
- Develop, maintain, and improve automated testing pipelines within CI/CD environments.
- Implement quality gates, coverage thresholds, regression testing strategies, and selective test execution within monorepo environments.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve flaky tests and automation framework reliability issues.
- Develop testing approaches for AI-powered features, including evaluation of non-deterministic outputs, reference datasets, acceptance criteria, and regression testing for agent-based workflows.
- Perform exploratory testing for new prototypes, MVPs, and product features where automation may not yet be appropriate.




- Use AI-assisted development tools to improve test design, automation development, debugging, and testing efficiency.
- Review and validate AI-generated test code to ensure accuracy, reliability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and technical leadership to identify testing requirements and potential quality risks early in development.
- Participate in technical discussions, sprint planning, refinement, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 5 years of professional QA experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on test automation experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing automated testing solutions for enterprise-grade commercial software over multiple years.
- Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and JavaScript.
- Extensive experience developing automated tests using Playwright and TypeScript; deep Cypress experience may also be considered.
- Experience building or substantially expanding test automation frameworks rather than solely maintaining existing test suites.
- Experience implementing automation frameworks using Page Object Model, fixtures, and reusable test components.
- Experience developing component and integration tests using Vitest or Jest and React Testing Library.
- Strong API testing experience, including manual testing with Postman or Insomnia and code-based API automation.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Experience using SQL for test data preparation, schema validation, and data integrity testing.
- Experience implementing and maintaining automated testing pipelines within CI/CD environments, preferably GitHub Actions.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience using AI tools for software development or test automation, with the ability to walk through presente pull requests and explain how AI was used, how the resulting code was validated, and what corrections or improvements were made.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, and exploratory testing.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills, particularly within complex, data-intensive enterprise applications.
- Experience collaborating with software development teams to identify defects, improve testability,



and maintain software quality.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while collaborating effectively with distributed engineering teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced product development environment with changing priorities and evolving requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

- Hands-on experience building AI agents or agent-based workflow automation solutions.
- Experience testing AI agents, LLM-powered applications, or AI-driven workflows.
- Experience developing AI testing strategies involving evaluation datasets, prompt regression testing, output scoring, and acceptance criteria.
- Experience with tRPC, Drizzle ORM, Zustand, or TanStack Query.
- Experience with monorepo tooling such as PNPM Workspaces or Turborepo.
- Experience testing applications built using micro-frontend architecture.
- Experience with visual regression testing using Storybook.
- Experience implementing automated accessibility testing using axe-core.
- Experience testing multi-tenant enterprise applications.
- Background testing enterprise software in financial services, regulatory compliance, reporting, or other highly regulated industries.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred, or equivalent professional experience.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. This is a contract opportunity with fully remote work arrangements.
