About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and dedicated Abogado Consultor en Propiedad Intelectual to join their fully remote legal team. This role is idóneo for a legal professional passionate about protecting and leveraging intellectual assets, offering strategic advice to businesses operating across various sectors. You will be instrumental in managing patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret portfolios, ensuring robust protection and strategic utilization. The successful candidate will possess a keen understanding of intellectual property law, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to provide clear, actionable advice to a diverse clientele. Key Responsibilities

- Advise clients on all aspects of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
- Conduct IP searches, analyses, and due diligence.
- Draft and prosecute patent and trademark applications.
- Manage the registration and maintenance of IP portfolios globally.
- Develop IP strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Negotiate and draft IP-related agreements, such as licensing, joint development, and assignment agreements.
- Represent clients in IP disputes, infringement cases, and opposition proceedings.
- Provide legal opinions on IP validity, infringement,



and registrability.
- Monitor market trends and competitor IP activities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant IP laws and international treaties.

Requirements

- Law degree (Licenciatura en Derecho) with a specialization or significant experience in intellectual property law.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience focused on IP law, including prosecution, enforcement, and transactions.
- Deep understanding of Mexican IP laws and international IP agreements.
- Proven experience in managing patent and trademark portfolios.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and collaborate seamlessly in a remote setting.
- Fluency in Spanish is required; proficiency in English is highly advantageous.
- Membership in the relevant Bar Association.
