About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Farmacéutico Clínico Especializado en Terapia Intensiva (ICU Pharmacist) to join their critical care team in Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico. This hybrid role involves providing advanced pharmaceutical care to critically ill patients, optimizing medication therapy, and collaborating closely with the ICU multidisciplinary team. You will be integral to ensuring the safe and effective use of medications in a high-acuity environment. We are looking for a pharmacist with a strong foundation in critical care pharmacotherapy, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. The hybrid model allows for flexibility while ensuring vital on-site presence in the ICU. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes, reduce medication errors, and contribute to the overall efficiency of critical care services. Key Responsibilities

- Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
- Conduct daily patient rounds with the critical care team, offering recommendations on medication selection, dosing, and monitoring.
- Manage complex medication regimens, including anticoagulants, vasopressors, sedatives, and antibiotics.
- Perform therapeutic drug monitoring for select medications and adjust regimens as needed.
- Educate physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals on pharmacotherapy in critical care.
- Participate in ICU-specific committees and initiatives focused on improving patient safety and outcomes.
- Respond to emergent medication-related situations and provide expert consultation.




- Review and interpret laboratory results in the context of medication therapy.
- Stay current with the latest guidelines and literature pertaining to critical care pharmacotherapy.

Requirements

- Licensed Pharmacist in Mexico with active registration.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in clinical pharmacy, with a significant portion (at least 2 years) in an ICU setting.
- Postgraduate training (residency or fellowship) in critical care pharmacy is highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of critical care pharmacotherapy, including hemodynamics, mechanical ventilation, and renal replacement therapy.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing on-site responsibilities with potential remote administrative tasks.
- Proficiency in using hospital pharmacy information systems and electronic health records.
