About the Role

Our client, a contemporary art gallery with a dynamic exhibition schedule located in Toluca, State of Mexico, MX , is searching for an experienced and organized Gerente de Operaciones de Galería de Arte. This key position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational efficiency of the gallery, ensuring a seamless experience for artists, clients, and visitors. The idóneo candidate will have a strong understanding of gallery management, art handling, inventory control, and client relations within the art market. You will play a crucial role in supporting exhibition logistics, managing gallery staff, and contributing to the gallery's overall success. Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the daily operations of the art gallery, ensuring smooth functioning and a welcoming atmosphere.
- Manage art handling, installation, and deinstallation processes for exhibitions, ensuring proper care and safety of artworks.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of artworks, including provenance, condition, and location.
- Supervise and train gallery assistants and interns, assigning tasks and managing schedules.
- Coordinate with artists, collectors, and clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
- Manage gallery budgets, including operational expenses, exhibition costs, and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and safety regulations within the gallery space.
- Liaise with external vendors, framers, shippers, and art transport services.




- Assist in the planning and execution of gallery events, openings, and private viewings.
- Maintain the gallery space, ensuring it is clean, presentable, and secure at all times.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Art History, Arts Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in gallery operations, art handling, or arts administration.
- Proven experience in inventory management and art logistics.
- Strong understanding of the contemporary art market and artist relations.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in gallery management software and standard office applications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, often under pressure.
- Knowledge of art conservation principles is a plus.
- Fluency in Spanish; working knowledge of English is advantageous.
