About the Role

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and direct the daily activities of the cleaning staff to ensure all areas of the medical facility are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness.
- Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive cleaning and disinfection protocols, particularly for high-risk areas such as operating rooms and intensive care units.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality assurance checks to verify adherence to established protocols and identify areas for improvement.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, disinfectants, and equipment, ensuring appropriate stock levels and proper usage.
- Train and mentor cleaning staff on best practices, safety procedures, use of equipment, and infection control measures.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to healthcare facility sanitation and waste disposal.
- Collaborate with hospital administrators, infection control practitioners,



and department managers to address specific cleaning needs and concerns.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency cleaning situations, such as spills of biohazardous materials.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, staff performance, supply usage, and incident reports.
- Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the cleaning services team.

Requirements

- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in cleaning supervision, with a significant portion in a healthcare or hospital setting.
- In-depth knowledge of hospital-grade cleaning procedures, disinfection techniques, and infection control principles.
- Experience with specialized cleaning equipment and medical-grade disinfectants.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of cleaning professionals.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations (e.g., OSHA, local health department guidelines).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- High school diploma required; certification in Healthcare Environmental Services (CHES) or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Spanish.
