Montaplast is seeking an experienced, bilingual (English/Spanish) Design / CAD Engineer to develop and maintain CAD designs for injection-molded automotive components and assemblies. This position will collaborate with engineering, tooling, manufacturing, and customer teams to support product development, design changes, and production readiness.

Key Responsibilities

- Create and modify 3D CAD models, GD&T;, and 2D engineering drawings using CATIA V5.
- Design automotive plastic components and assemblies while ensuring manufacturability and compliance with OEM standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, tooling, and manufacturing teams to resolve design issues and support product development.
- Support technical feasibility reviews, quotations, and engineering changes.
- Maintain CAD data, engineering revisions, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) within PLM and customer systems.
- Evaluate injection-molding tooling considerations, including lifters, slides, gating, draft angles, and shut-offs.

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of CATIA V5 experience, including 3D modeling, GD&T;, 2D drawings, and complex assemblies.




- 5+ years of plastic injection-molding design experience, including plastic components and assemblies.
- Ford Teamcenter certification and hands-on experience.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
- Strong knowledge of GD&T;, advanced 3D surfacing, and injection-molding tooling.
- Experience managing engineering revisions, CAD data, and BOMs.
- Strong technical problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Automotive under-the-hood, interior, or exterior component design experience.
- Experience with Siemens NX (UG/NX) or GM Teamcenter.
- Knowledge of automotive powertrain systems, plastic resins, or CAE/FEA.
- Experience working with automotive OEMs and suppliers.
