Guadalajara, Mexico Contract Duration: 12 Months Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite Work Schedule: 5 days per week Remote Work: Not available Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Senior Frontend Developer – AI-Native Data to build modern, data-intensive web applications that combine advanced data visualization, AI-powered user experiences, and interactive interfaces. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in React, TypeScript, and D3.js, along with hands-on experience developing LLM-powered applications and scalable frontend architectures.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain production-grade frontend features using React and TypeScript across data explorers, topic pages, and natural-language search experiences.
• Build interactive data visualizations using D3.js and SVG, including choropleth maps, timelines, scatter plots, and ranking tables, with features such as zooming, brushing, tooltips, and linked charts.
• Design and implement AI-native user interfaces, including conversational search, streaming LLM responses, and agent workflows that display execution steps, tool calls, progress indicators, and cited sources.
• Develop generative UI experiences in which model outputs dynamically populate reusable chart and table components, with appropriate fallbacks, error handling, and user controls.
• Integrate frontend applications with Flask and Mixer APIs, ensuring reliable data exchange and efficient state management.
• Implement URL-based state serialization to enable shareable links that preserve chart configurations, search queries, and visualization states.
• Build responsive, accessible, and high-performance user interfaces aligned with WCAG accessibility standards.
• Write and maintain automated tests and contribute to code reviews through GitHub pull requests.



Required Qualifications
• 8–12 years of professional frontend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript, including asynchronous programming and modern development practices.
• Extensive hands-on experience with React, including hooks, state management, reusable components, and frontend architecture.
• Strong knowledge of CSS/SCSS, Flexbox, Grid, responsive design, and web accessibility.
• Practical experience developing interactive data visualizations using D3.js and SVG.
• Experience integrating REST APIs and handling JSON data, client-side state, and URL serialization.
• Experience building at least one LLM-powered user interface, such as an AI chatbot, AI search application, copilot, or agent-based interface.
• Experience writing frontend tests using Jest and React Testing Library.
• Proficiency with Git and GitHub-based development workflows, including pull requests and code reviews.
• Professional working proficiency in English. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience designing agentic user experiences, including human-in-the-loop approvals, multi-step execution progress, cited responses, and uncertainty handling.
• Familiarity with Gemini APIs, Google Agent Development Kit (ADK), and Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Experience with prompt design and evaluating AI features for response quality, latency, and user feedback.
• Working knowledge of Python, Flask, gRPC, and Protocol Buffers (Protobuf).
• Familiarity with knowledge graphs and structured data models, including StatVars, DCIDs, provenance, Schema.org, MCF, JSON-LD, and RDF.
• Experience with Webpack, npm/yarn, Bazel, Percy, and hermetic end-to-end testing.
• Familiarity with Docker, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
