Project & Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to own and modernize the development, build, and test infrastructure for complex automotive software projects. In this high-visibility technical role, you will bridge the gap between embedded software developers, test engineers, and IT infrastructure teams to design, scale, and automate high-availability CI/CD pipelines and virtualized test environments.

If you thrive on replacing manual build/test bottlenecks with resilient, scalable Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automating complex software integration pipelines for distributed engineering teams, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

- CI/CD Pipeline Architecture: Design, build, and maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) for safety-critical automotive software build, integration, and deployment workflows.
- Build & Test Automation: Integrate automated software, unit, integration, and bench/HiL test suites directly into CI/CD quality gates with automated logging, result collection, and traceability.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Containerization: Provision, configure, and manage virtual machines, build agents, runners, and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) using IaC best practices.
- Toolchain Integration: Support the integration of automotive development and testing toolchains (e.g., Vector tools, static analysis, artifact managers) into cloud and on-premise pipeline ecosystems.
- Environment & Release Management: Establish robust Git branching models, version control standards, artifact repositories (JFrog Artifactory/Nexus), and automated release processes.
- Performance Tuning & Troubleshooting: Monitor build/pipeline performance, eliminate build bottlenecks, enforce secret/credential security, and perform root-cause analysis on infrastructure/pipeline failures.
- Technical Ownership & Mentorship: Define DevOps standards, produce technical documentation, and guide cross-functional teams across Mexico, the US, and general sites.

Mandatory Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of dedicated professional experience in DevOps, Build/Release Engineering, or Infrastructure Automation.
- CI/CD Expertise: Advanced hands-on experience creating and optimizing complex pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Scripting & Automation: Strong programming/scripting proficiency in Python and Bash.
- Linux & Containers: Solid experience with Linux OS administration, shell scripting, Docker, and containerization workflows.
- Version Control: Deep mastery of Git branching strategies (GitFlow, trunk-based development) and versioning workflows.
- Testing Integration: Proven track record of integrating automated test frameworks and test-result reporting into CI/CD pipelines.
- Soft Skills & Language: Excellent technical problem-solving skills and Advanced English communication skills for direct collaboration with international engineering teams.
