Senior WordPress Developer (Full-Time | Remote) – LionHead Digital

Type: Full-Time | Remote

Base Salary: $30,000 – $42,000/year (DOE)

Before You Apply

We review every application carefully. If you don't meet all five of the following, please don't apply:

- 3+ years of hands-on WordPress development experience.
- Proven experience using Oxygen Builder (or similar tools like Bricks).
- Strong working knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, and ability to communicate clearly in English.
- Hands-on experience with WordPress technical operations, including DNS, hosting environments, SSL, backups, and restores.
- A defined QA and deployment process involving staging, version control, testing, and rollback procedures that you can confidently explain.

Who We Are

LionHead Digital is a boutique agency exclusively serving criminal defense, personal injury, and family law firms across the U.S.

We don't do vanity metrics — we deliver verified lead reporting, measurable results, and the kind of transparency that keeps clients for years. Nine years in, we're building the most advanced law firm marketing system in the country.

The Role

We're looking for a Senior WordPress Developer to take ownership of building, maintaining, and optimizing client websites. You'll work closely with design and marketing teams to turn Figma files into high-performing, conversion-focused websites, while also supporting ongoing maintenance, tickets, and improvements to our dev processes.

You're the One If

You're the kind of developer who doesn't just “build what’s asked,” but thinks about how to make it better, faster, and more scalable. You're comfortable working independently, solving problems quickly, and communicating clearly when things are blocked or need attention.

What You'll Do

- Build, maintain, and update client websites using WordPress + Oxygen Builder.
- Develop landing pages, CTAs, and conversion-focused components from Figma designs.
- Implement technical SEO fundamentals, including meta titles and descriptions, proper heading structure, redirects, and indexability.
- Maintain and optimize existing websites (updates, performance, fixes).
- Manage technical operations, including DNS, SSL, site migrations, backups, and restores.
- Follow and improve QA and deployment processes, including staging, Git version control, testing, and rollback procedures.
- Develop secure, maintainable custom code, including plugins and integrations, with proper validation, sanitization, and error handling.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues and tickets.
- Collaborate within a pod alongside designers, SEO specialists, and account managers, implementing designs accurately and communicating concerns proactively.
- Identify and flag technical risks, blockers, or potential delays before they impact deadlines.
- Improve internal development processes and workflows.
- Use AI tools to speed up development and improve efficiency.

How We Measure Success

- Low number of overdue tasks and tickets.
- Timely maintenance delivery for assigned websites.
- Zero production issues caused by untested changes, with staging, QA, backups, and rollback procedures consistently followed.
- Websites launch with technical SEO fundamentals in place and no visible errors.
- Quality and clarity of progress updates (including Pastel comments where applicable).
- Risks and blockers are communicated proactively, before deadlines are impacted.
- Ability to reduce recurring issues through better implementation.
- Consistent delivery without delays or bottlenecks.

Who You Are

Required Experience

- 3+ years WordPress development experience.
- Strong experience with Oxygen Builder (or similar visual builders like Bricks).
- Solid PHP and JavaScript skills, including secure custom plugin and theme development, WordPress security practices (nonces, sanitization, escaping, capability checks), and error handling.
- Strong WordPress technical knowledge, including hooks, custom post types and fields, databases, WP-CLI, caching, performance optimization, and debugging.
- Experience managing DNS records (A, CNAME, MX, TXT), hosting environments, SSL, and domain/server migrations.
- Proven ability to manage backups, perform restores, troubleshoot outages, and implement preventive measures.
- Experience with staging environments, Git version control, QA testing, and rollback procedures.
- Understanding of technical SEO fundamentals, including metadata, heading structure, redirects, and indexability.
- Experience working with Figma-to-web development workflows.
- Fluent English.

Nice to Have

- Experience working with US-based clients.
- Agency experience, particularly with law firms or lead-generation websites.
- Knowledge of schema markup, Core Web Vitals, and advanced site speed optimization.
- Experience integrating payment systems, CRMs, or forms.

Skills & Traits

- Strong communication skills (clear, proactive, accountable).
- Honest and transparent about technical experience, knowledge gaps, and willingness to learn.
- Collaborative and comfortable working with designers, SEO specialists, and other team members, including giving and receiving feedback.
- Proactive in identifying risks and communicating potential delays rather than relying on overtime to meet deadlines.
- Problem-solver with a “figure it out” mindset.
- Comfortable using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) in daily workflow.
- Good design sense and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

How We Work

Our core values aren't posters on a wall — they guide every decision we make.

- Never Settle — We chase mastery, not perfection. Always hungry, always improving.
- We Give a Damn — We show up, care deeply, and own outcomes for clients and teammates.
- Courageous Communication — Truth early, respect always. We don't hide problems or avoid tough conversations.
- Obsessed with Outcomes — Client results are our only scoreboard. When they grow, we grow.

Compensation & Benefits

- Base Salary: $30,000 – $42,000 USD/year
- Paid time off.
- Paid training and professional development assistance.
- Employee of the Month.
- 100% remote.

To Apply

Please be prepared to complete/provide:

1. Both PI assessments (Behavioral and Cognitive).
2. Your English fluency level.
3. Links to 2–3 live websites you've built, including a brief explanation of your responsibilities for each.
4. Short written responses explaining your QA/deployment process and how you'd handle a website outage following an update, including immediate recovery and preventive actions.
5. A 2–3 minute introduction video covering your background, relevant experience, career goals, and interest in the role.

? Apply today to join a results-driven agency where your work directly impacts our clients and our future.
