PEACE Punta de Mita, A.C. is seeking to welcome a passionate and committed education professional to join our team as an EFL Tutor within our community high school program in partnership with Tecnológico de Monterrey.

This position combines teaching, student support, institutional operations, and active participation in the social initiatives of a nonprofit organization. Beyond classroom instruction, the role includes collaborating on community projects, events, internal campaigns, educational activities, and initiatives that strengthen the social impact of the association, while being part of an organization focused on transforming lives through quality education.

Main Responsibilities

Academic

- Teach English as a Foreign Language at high school level.
- Work with students across different proficiency levels, from beginner to intermediate/advanced.
- Design engaging lesson plans focused on speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary.
- Prepare students for international English certifications when applicable.
- Assess student progress and provide regular feedback.
- Create communicative learning environments that build confidence and fluency.
- Integrate digital tools and interactive resources into teaching.

Student Support

- Provide personalized follow-up on students’ linguistic and academic progress.
- Identify learning gaps and implement reinforcement strategies.
- Participate in family meetings when needed.
- Encourage study habits, discipline, and consistency.

Institutional & Social Impact

- Participate in community events, cultural activities, and educational projects led by the association.
- Support workshops, conversation clubs, cultural exchange activities, and extracurricular programs.
- Collaborate in institutional events, visits,



and programs involving international volunteers.
- Professionally represent the association when required.
- Contribute innovative ideas to strengthen the English department.

Administrative

- Grade entry and academic tracking.
- Prepare periodic academic reports.
- Coordinate with fellow tutors and academic leadership.
- Participate in planning and operations meetings.
- Support admissions processes, interviews, and placement testing.

Desired Profile

- Bachelor’s degree in English Teaching, Foreign Languages, Education, Applied Linguistics, or related field.
- Advanced English proficiency (C1 minimum preferred).
- Teaching certification such as TKT, CELTA, TESOL, TEFL, or equivalent preferred.
- Experience teaching teenagers or young adults.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Energetic, creative, and communicative teaching style.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Genuine passion for working with youth and communities.
- Proactive mindset, leadership, and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic nature of a nonprofit environment.
- Experience with digital tools and learning platforms.

Highly Valued

- Experience preparing students for Cambridge English, TOEFL, IELTS, or similar certifications.
- Experience in community-based or nonprofit programs.
- Experience with hybrid or online learning.
- Knowledge of active methodologies and project-based learning.
