Role Description The Data Protection Specialist (Veeam) is a full-time hybrid role based in Mexico City, Mexico, with the flexibility to work from home part of the time. The specialist will design, implement, and maintain data backup and recovery solutions using Veeam and related technologies, ensuring availability and integrity of critical data across virtualized and cloud infrastructures. Daily responsibilities include monitoring backup jobs, troubleshooting failures, performing restores and disaster recovery tests, and optimizing backup policies and retention strategies. The role involves collaborating with infrastructure, security, and compliance teams to align data protection practices with privacy regulations and internal controls, as well as documenting procedures and producing clear reports for stakeholders. The specialist will also support continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating new tools,



refining processes, and contributing to best practices in data protection and information security. Qualifications
• Candidates should possess strong skills in Data Privacy and Privacy Compliance to ensure backup and recovery solutions align with regulatory and organizational requirements.
• Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to interpret backup reports, identify issues, and optimize data protection configurations and performance.
• Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams, document processes, and present findings clearly.
• Candidates should possess foundational to advanced Information Security knowledge to integrate backup strategies with broader security controls and risk management practices.
• Hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication or similar enterprise backup platforms, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Experience working with virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms, and understanding of storage technologies and networking basics.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setting in Mexico City, manage time effectively, and operate with a high level of reliability and attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Veeam Certified Engineer, security or cloud certifications) are considered an advantage.
