EHS Manager (Fire Protection & Explosion Prevention) Location Ciudad Juarez, Chih. Mexico Position Summary The EH&S; Manager is responsible for leading and managing all Environment, Health, and Safety programs for the manufacturing operations in Mexico. This role ensures full compliance with Mexican EH&S; legislation, international standards, and corporate requirements. Key Responsibilities
Fire Protection & Loss Prevention
• Lead the design, evaluation, and maintenance of fire protection and suppression systems (sprinklers, detection, suppression, alarms and passive fire protection).
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, FM Global Property Loss Prevention Data Sheets, and insurance requirements.
• Conduct fire risk assessments, fire modeling where required, and emergency response planning.
• Act as site lead for fire protection system, safety and MOC drills. Explosive Atmospheres & Process Safety
• Lead risk assessments related to explosive atmospheres, combustible dust, flammable gases, and liquids.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., NFPA 652/654/68/69, hazardous area classification, ignition source control).
• Partner with Engineering and Operations to implement preventive and mitigative controls. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure full compliance with Mexican EH&S; legislation, including applicable NOMs, STPS, SEMARNAT, PROFEPA, and local/state regulations.
• Serve as the primary interfacewith regulatory authorities and lead inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
• Maintain permits, licenses, environmental reporting and legal registers.
• Lead Risk Analysis studies using HIRA, HAZOP and LOPA tools. Safety Management Systems & Culture
• Develop,



implement, and continuously improve EH&S; management systems aligned with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and corporate standards.
• Drive a strong, visible safety leadership culture, engaging all organizational levels.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and preventive action plans, using PCDA tools.
• Establish and track KPIs, leading indicators, and EH&S; performance metrics. Leadership & Collaboration
• Provide exceptional leadership to EH&S; staff and cross-functional teams.
• Coach, train, and influence leaders and employees to embed EH&S; into daily operations.
• Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, HR, and Corporate EH&S.;
• Support capital projects, new processes, and equipment installations from an EH&S; perspective. Qualifications & Experience Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
• 8–10+ years of progressive EH&S; experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong, hands-on experience with Mexican EH&S; legislation and regulatory agencies.
• Knowledge of PCDA and Lean Tools. Demonstrated expertise in:
• NFPA standards
• FM Global requirements
• Fire protection systems
• Explosive atmospheres / combustible dust
• Proven record of leading audits, inspections, and regulatory interactions.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal). Preferred
• Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, NEBOSH, CIH, Fire Protection–related certifications).
• Experience working with multinational or corporate EH&S; systems.
• Experience in high-risk manufacturing (chemical, automotive, electronics, metals, plastics, food, etc.).
