Position : Front End contractor

Location:
Fully remote (ideally in North America or South America and working MST timezone). Ok with Mexico, Canada etc Duration : Contract Interview: Two rounds (1st interview
- 30 mins with manager, 2nd technical 60-90 mins with engineers) We are looking for a front-end contractor with strong React experience who can operate independently across the full lifecycle of a feature, from requirements to delivery. Experience with GraphQL or back-end development is a plus, but not required. The idóneo candidate does more than execute assigned tasks. They read product requirements critically, surface gaps and ambiguities without prompting, and translate incomplete or vague requirements into clear technical plans before building anything. They collaborate directly with product and engineering, ask the right questions early, and document findings and assumptions as a matter of habit. It is expected that they align with stakeholders first before proceeding with assumptions. They remain open to redirection mid-task and adjust course when given new information or feedback. On the technical side, candidates must have a solid understanding of client-side versus server-side architecture, browser storage mechanisms, and data persistence, including where each belongs in a solution. Strong debugging skills are also required, including familiarity with common front-end pitfalls such as memory leaks and race conditions. Comfort with ambiguity is essential.

We need someone we can hand a project to where requirements are incomplete, and trust them to plan, scope, and drive it forward with minimal guidance. A consistent gap we have observed across candidates is the tendency to wait for fully defined requirements or scoped tickets before proceeding, or to execute confidently on the wrong thing rather than pausing to verify. We need someone who can critically evaluate the full life-cycle of a project: receiving product requirements, challenging them, designing a solution, creating the tickets, and handling or overseeing implementation. In short, we need someone who can:
- Work in React; GraphQL or back-end experience is a bonus
- Demonstrate solid understanding of client-side vs. server-side architecture and data persistence
- Debug effectively, including memory leaks and race conditions
- Proactively identify and clarify gaps in requirements, without prompting, before proceeding
- Align with stakeholders to avoid building the wrong thing
- Remain responsive to feedback and redirect mid-task
- Translate product requirements into technical requirements end-to-end
- Design, scope, and plan solutions with incomplete information
- Create actionable tickets for themselves and others
- Follow and uphold established coding standards
- Implement and deliver for both new and existing applications
- Take point on projects and work independently with minimal hand-holding
