THE OPPORTUNITY oakpool has an internal technology initiative underway, and we are inviting one or two students to join the team behind it. The work sits where operations, software and applied AI meet. You will contribute to work already in motion, help shape tools that people across two countries rely on, and see firsthand how a modern firm builds the systems it runs on. You will leave with a body of work you can speak to in any interview. WHO WE ARE oakpool is a marketing & technology firm for founder & family-led brands, with roughly 40 people across the United States and Mexico City. We also build oakpool.ai, a platform that measures and improves how brands appear in answers from ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude. THE INITIATIVE We build much of our own infrastructure. Our team works across Slack, Gmail and Google Workspace, Claude, Supermetrics, the major social and advertising platforms, and a range of internal and external tools, and this initiative extends that foundation. We will share the specifics with finalists. Interns take part in every phase: discovery, design, building, testing and rollout. WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH You will report to the initiative's internal sponsors. They are technical operators who know our work intimately and have built tools of their own, but they are not engineers by trade. In practice, this means three things:
• You will help make real architecture decisions, and you will learn to defend them.
• You will learn to translate how people work into a clear technical spec, and to explain tradeoffs in plain language. Most engineers take years to learn this, and it is the skill that most separates good ones from great ones.
• You will get direct, unvarnished feedback on whether what you built solves the problem.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Contribute to integrations across Slack, Gmail, Google Workspace, Supermetrics, and the social and advertising platforms we manage for clients
• Help design and test AI agents built on Claude
• Extend the internal and external tools our team uses every day
• Write documentation a non-engineer can follow
• Present your work to firm leadership at the end of the term WHAT YOU'LL LEARN API integration and authentication, applied AI engineering, systems design, and the discipline of shipping software to real users. You will also see how a services firm and a software product operate side by side. WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• Students in computer science, information systems, data science, industrial engineering or a related field
• You have built something on your own time: a script, a bot, a side project, anything that solved a real problem
• Working knowledge of Python or JavaScript
• You prefer ambiguity to a ticket queue
• You write clearly
• Fluency in English & Spanish STRUCTURE This internship is unpaid. If your school offers academic credit for internships, we are glad to support that process, including coordinating with your faculty advisor on the learning plan and evaluation where we can. The role is fully remote, with weekly working sessions with your sponsors and versátil hours around your course load.
