Job Title: Jr. Core Engineer – UX Feature Design (Remote - Mexico)

Position: Jr. Core Engineer (UX Feature Design)

Locations: 100% Remote (Must reside and be legally authorized to work in Mexico)

Role Overview

As a Jr. Core Engineer (UX Feature Design), you will play a key role in defining and refining the user interaction and feature logic for next-generation vehicle infotainment and in-cabin systems. You will focus on user feedback, auditory signals, messaging, functional grouping, and system intuitiveness.In this role, you will bridge user experience with technical execution by crafting clear, robust system logic specifications that align with customer objectives, electrical engineering requirements, and graphical assets.

You will also collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and HMI validation engineers to ensure that the final vehicle implementation matches specifications seamlessly.

Responsibilities

- Specification & Design: Develop and maintain clear, robust feature logic and HMI system specifications that align with broader domain documents and electrical architecture.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Participate in design reviews, present new HMI design proposals, and align feature behavior with engineering, graphics, and supplier teams.
- Problem Solving & Change Management: Propose intuitive solutions to enhance feature usability, present benchmark data, and support change request (CR) activities.
- Testing & Validation Support:



Partner with User Testing and Validation teams to design user validation tests, verify feature logic on test benches or vehicles, and assist in logging and resolving defects.
- Vehicle Assessments: Assist Lead Engineers and Performance Leads during vehicle assessment drives and heuristic evaluations.

Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, Systems, Biomedical), Ergonomics, Human Factors, Cognitive Systems, Psychology, or a related field.

Required Skills

- Location & Work Authorization: Must currently reside in Mexico and be legally authorized to live and work full-time in Mexico without sponsorship. Willingness to travel to our facilities upon request.
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in product design, requirements definition, engineering logic, or HMI/UX development (internship or project-based automotive experience included).
- Language: Professional working proficiency in English (written and spoken) for general cross-functional alignments.

Preferred Skills

- Basic understanding of automotive electrical engineering systems, CAN networks, and vehicle development lifecycles.
- Familiarity with requirements management and design tools (e.g., IBM DOORS, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Visio, or Figma).
- Exposure to user-centered design principles, usability testing, or competitive vehicle benchmarking.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills with the flexibility to adapt to changing design requirements.
