MUFG Mexico is seeking an experienced and technically strong Director of Applications to lead the strategy, architecture, delivery, and modernization of the Bank’s application landscape. This role is responsible for overseeing the portfolio of applications supporting core banking, payments, transaction banking, lending, financial markets, corporate functions, and regulatory capabilities, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technology strategy. The Director will define and execute the application roadmap, drive modernization and simplification initiatives, improve application resiliency, and strengthen engineering and architecture standards across the organization. The position will promote the adoption of modern software development practices, including cloud technologies, APIs, automation, DevSecOps, and AI-enabled capabilities, while ensuring applications remain secure, scalable, and compliant with regulatory and corporate requirements. Working closely with business leaders, technology teams, Information Security, Risk Management, and external partners, this individual will oversee strategic technology investments, application governance, vendor relationships, and engineering resources. The role also provides leadership in reducing technical debt, enhancing operational efficiency, supporting regulatory and audit initiatives, and fostering a high-performing application organization focused on innovation, stability, and business enablement. Key Qualifications
• Proven leadership experience in application engineering, architecture,



software development, or technology delivery within banking or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of banking technologies, including payments, transaction banking, lending, financial markets, core banking, and regulatory platforms.
• Experience leading application modernization, cloud adoption, platform migrations, integrations, and large-scale technology transformation initiatives.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, SDLC, DevSecOps, CI/CD, application security, resiliency, and lifecycle management.
• Hands-on experience with Temenos T24 (Transact) core banking platform is required.
• Experience managing application portfolios, technology investments, strategic vendors, and engineering teams.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and business partnership skills, with the ability to operate across local, regional, and integral organizations.
• Advanced English and Spanish knowledge is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Preferred Experience
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure), APIs, microservices, integration platforms, and modern application architectures.
• Banking technology experience in payments, treasury, lending, transaction banking, or financial markets.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled solutions, intelligent automation, and data-driven technologies.
• Relevant cloud, architecture, or software engineering certifications.
