About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated Precision Irrigation and Fertigation Coordinator to join their agricultural team in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas. This role focuses on optimizing water and nutrient application through advanced irrigation systems, ensuring maximum crop efficiency and sustainability. You will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of irrigation schedules and fertigation programs, leveraging technology to meet the precise needs of various crops. The idóneo candidate will have a solid understanding of irrigation technologies, soil science, and plant physiology, with a passion for precision agriculture. This is a hands-on role critical to the success of farming operations in the Chiapas region.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and schedule irrigation and fertigation cycles based on crop needs, soil conditions, and weather forecasts.
- Operate and maintain advanced irrigation systems, including drip, micro-sprinkler, and automated controllers.
- Monitor soil moisture levels and plant nutrient status using various sensors and diagnostic tools.
- Prepare and apply precise fertilizer solutions through fertigation systems, ensuring optimal nutrient uptake.
- Calibrate irrigation and fertigation equipment regularly to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Analyze water usage and nutrient application data to identify areas for improvement and cost savings.
- Collaborate with agronomists and farm managers to align irrigation and fertigation strategies with overall crop production plans.
- Troubleshoot any issues related to irrigation systems, water quality,



or nutrient delivery in Tuxtla Gutiérrez.
- Maintain detailed records of irrigation schedules, water use, fertilizer applications, and system performance.
- Ensure compliance with water use regulations and promote water conservation practices.
- Stay updated on new developments in precision irrigation and fertigation technologies.

Requirements

- Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in irrigation management, with a focus on precision agriculture or fertigation.
- Practical experience with drip irrigation systems and automated control technologies.
- Knowledge of soil science, plant physiology, and nutrient management.
- Familiarity with sensors for monitoring soil moisture, weather, and plant health.
- Ability to read and interpret technical data and make informed decisions.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work outdoors in agricultural settings in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas.
