About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Civil Project and Construction Engineer to oversee key infrastructure projects in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas . This role is critical for managing the planning, execution, and delivery of diverse civil engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be instrumental in coordinating with various stakeholders, including government agencies, subcontractors, and internal teams, to achieve project success. The position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and a deep understanding of construction methodologies and site management. This is a field-based role with significant on-site responsibilities, offering the chance to make a tangible impact on the region's development.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage all phases of civil engineering projects, from initial planning and design through to construction and final handover.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate and supervise on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression and compliance.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, track expenses, and approve payments to contractors and suppliers.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality of work, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Resolve any site issues or conflicts that may arise during the construction process.
- Prepare progress reports, technical documentation,



and final project close-out documents.
- Ensure all projects comply with local building codes, environmental regulations, and our client's quality standards.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 4 years of proven experience in managing civil engineering projects, with a strong emphasis on construction oversight.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets and schedules effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and equipment.
- Familiarity with Mexican building codes and regulations is essential.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and standard office software.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Reside in or be willing to relocate to Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas.
