Work model : Hybrid - 3 days on-site at Tecnoparque

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to act as a subject‑matter expert for network infrastructure services, supporting their secure, resilient, and reliable operation while driving continuous improvement

The role holder will take technical ownership of assigned infrastructure components and services, reduce operational risk and technical debt, improve resilience, and enable predictable, low‑risk delivery across environments

Working with Infrastructure Engineering, IT Service Owners, Architecture, Risk, vendors and other stakeholders, the role holder will ensure that services meet their capacity, performance, availability, security, and resilience requirements

The role requires the ability to learn and apply unfamiliar technologies quickly. No specific technology, programming language or vendor platform should be a barrier to achieving the required outcome

- Operate with a high degree of technical autonomy within agreed policies, controls, and governance
- Own the reliability, lifecycle and continuous improvement of assigned infrastructure components and services
- Make sound technical decisions and clearly communicate their impact, risks, and dependencies
- Lead technical activities and incident reviews through influence, without relying on formal line‑management authority
- Provide specialist guidance to colleagues and partner teams
- Identify and manage risks proactively rather than waiting for incidents, assignments, or escalations
- Influence architecture, engineering, and operational decisions beyond the immediate team
- Mentor colleagues and promote the reuse of effective tools, patterns, and practices
- Remain accountable for the quality and long‑term sustainability of solutions delivered

Key Responsibilities

Technical Ownership and Architecture

- Act as the subject‑matter expert for assigned network infrastructure services and components
- Maintain a clear and current understanding of component dependencies, service boundaries, data flows, and operational risks
- Contribute to the simplification, standardization, and modernization of the technology architecture
- Identify, prioritize and reduce technical debt before it affects service stability, security or delivery
- Assess the impact of proposed changes on dependent services, controls, capacity, and operational processes
- Contribute to platform strategies covering demand, capacity, reusability, and solution design insights
- Identify opportunities to retire, consolidate, or simplify components where this reduces cost, risk, or operational complexity
- Use proofs of concept, testing, data, and external research to validate technical decisions and challenge assumptions

Service Reliability and Operational Excellence

- Take ownership of the reliability and operational health of assigned infrastructure services
- Contribute to the achievement of agreed Service Level Agreements and Service Level Objectives
- Lead or coordinate monitoring improvements, incident investigation, and problem resolution for assigned services
- Identify recurring failure patterns and implement sustainable corrective actions
- Ensure that operational documentation, dependency information, support procedures, and recovery documentation remain accurate and usable
- Consider service health, customer impact, risk, controls, and lifecycle management from an IT Service Owner perspective
- Improve service availability, performance, capacity, security, and resilience through evidence‑based engineering
- Escalate material risks, control gaps, capacity constraints, and unresolved dependencies through the appropriate governance channels

Automation and Engineering Delivery

- Develop and maintain automation for infrastructure build, configuration, testing,

deployment, and operational support
- Promote small, low‑risk and frequent changes through effective continuous delivery practices
- Reduce variation between environments and improve the predictability, quality, and auditability of infrastructure changes
- Develop reusable tools, automation patterns, and engineering practices for wider adoption across the team and partner teams
- Improve development and operational efficiency by eliminating avoidable manual activity
- Apply appropriate engineering and scripting approaches to solve problems effectively, regardless of the preferred programming language or technology platform
- Ensure that automation is maintainable, appropriately documented and aligned with security and control requirements

Resilience, Risk and Recovery

- Own or lead resilience assessments, recovery planning, and disaster recovery exercises for assigned services
- Lead role‑swap activities to validate that critical operational knowledge is distributed across the team
- Confirm that recovery procedures are practical, tested and supported by appropriate evidence
- Translate lessons from production incidents and Post‑Incident Reviews into prioritized and trackable improvements
- Contribute to technology risk management, control effectiveness, vendor management, and service continuity activities
- Identify single points of failure, unsupported dependencies, and other resilience weaknesses
- Ensure that agreed remediation actions are implemented, evidenced, and closed within the required timeframe

Leadership, Collaboration and Continuous Improvement

- Provide technical leadership during team, component, and production incident reviews
- Demonstrate clear ownership and accountability for assigned services, decisions, and remedial actions
- Provide subject‑matter expertise and practical guidance across teams
- Build trusted relationships with Infrastructure Engineering, Architecture, IT Service Owners, Risk, Service Management, vendors, and other stakeholders
- Lead improvement initiatives that require collaboration across organizational boundaries
- Mentor colleagues, share knowledge and encourage inclusive participation in technical discussions
- Promote a culture of learning, operational discipline, constructive challenge, and continuous improvement
- Identify and pursue opportunities that improve customer outcomes, service resilience, engineering efficiency, and colleague experience

Knowledge and Technical Expertise

Intermediate-to-advanced knowledge of enterprise network infrastructure and operational practices, including several of the following:

Routing and Switching

- Cisco networking technologies
- Arista networking technologies
- Open Shortest Path First
- Border Gateway Protocol
- Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol

- Knowledge of network security controls and secure configuration practices
- Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code, automated testing and deployment pipelines
- Experience using operational data, service metrics and trend analysis to guide improvements
- Awareness of current industry developments in networking, automation, resilience, and service operations

Experience

The role holder should have demonstrable experience in several of the following areas:

- Owning or supporting enterprise network infrastructure services in a production environment
- Investigating incidents, identifying root causes, and implementing sustainable corrective actions
- Managing technical debt and resolving operational issues proactively
- Delivering infrastructure changes through automation and repeatable deployment processes
- Improving monitoring, alert quality, service visibility, and operational readiness
- Supporting or leading resilience, disaster recovery, and role‑swap exercises
- Contributing to technology risk, control assurance, vendor management, and service continuity activities
- Leading or contributing to Post‑Incident Reviews and implementing resulting actions
- Developing reusable tools, automation, and engineering practices for wider team adoption
- Working effectively with IT Service Owners and stakeholders across organizational boundaries
- Providing technical guidance, mentoring colleagues, and promoting continuous improvement
- Evaluating technical options through proofs of concept, testing, data analysis, and external research
