Remote | Hybrid if in Los Angeles Hours: 10-20 hours/week, adaptable based on school requirements Languages: English required, Spanish helpful About HMA Hopeless Music Academy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing tuition-free music and music business education to under-resourced youth ages 12-17 in Los Angeles, at zero cost to students and families. What You'll Gain
• Guidance and collaboration from our Marketing Coordinator Myren, with additional mentorship from Program Director Rheanna 'caedance' Lauren
• Hands-on experience supporting social media presence of a respected brand
• Collaboration with our LA-based team on content ideas and creative direction
• Portfolio-building work across social strategy, content creation, and brand storytelling
• Expanded network in LA's nonprofit and music industry space Objective Run HMA's social media presence day-to-day: scheduling posts, ideating content, and coordinating with contributors,



while learning how a small nonprofit manages cross-team digital operations. Responsibilities May Include
• Ideate content ideas and plan posting calendars for each platform
• Create tasks and timelines for upcoming content, and assign them to content creators to make sure posts get made
• Coordinate with our LA-based team and content creators to keep production on track
• Capture and edit photo/video content, including behind-the-scenes footage
• Write copy for newsletters, social captions, and program updates
• Manage content and project timelines on Asana
• Update pages and content on Squarespace
• Coordinate cross-team communication and file organization via Google Drive and Google Chat
• Track engagement and refine content strategy based on performance
• Support HMA's day-to-day social media presence across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, and LinkedIn Qualifications
• Strong written communication skills in English
• Familiarity with TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, and LinkedIn as platforms, not just as a user
• Comfortable coordinating tasks and following up with other people to hit deadlines
• Interest in learning project management tools (Asana) and collaborative digital workspaces (Google Drive, Google Chat)
• Creative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently
• Comfortable in a small, fast-moving startup-style environment
