Database Security Engineer

Working days: 5 days in a week (rotational weekoffs)

Working Shift: 8AM-5PM or 12PM-9PM

We are seeking an experienced Database Security Engineer to join our enterprise security operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for the secure provisioning, administration, and governance of database access across multiple database technologies.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience managing database access within large-scale enterprise environments and has a strong understanding of database security controls, privileged access management, identity and access management (IAM), and audit/compliance requirements

Required Skills

- Strong experience with Database User & Access Management.
- Hands-on experience with CyberArk and Privileged Access Management (PAM).
- Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles and processes.
- Service Account Lifecycle Management.
- ServiceNow (SNOW) request and change management processes.
- Knowledge of least-privilege, segregation of duties (SoD), and security governance best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Access Administration

- Create, modify, disable,



and decommission database user and service accounts across multiple database platforms.
- Manage database roles, groups, permissions, grants, and access privileges.
- Implement and maintain least-privilege access controls for users and service accounts.
- Perform periodic access reviews and remediation of inactive, orphaned, or excessive privileges.
- Support access certification and audit activities.

CyberArk & Privileged Access Management (PAM)

- Configure and support CyberArk authentication and credential management solutions for database accounts.
- Onboard database accounts into CyberArk and validate password rotation, reconciliation, and authentication processes.
- Troubleshoot credential rotation, authentication, account management, and connectivity issues.
- Ensure privileged credentials are managed securely and comply with organizational security standards.

Governance, Compliance & Process Management

- Collaborate with DBAs, IAM teams, Cybersecurity teams, Application Owners, and Infrastructure teams to define appropriate access requirements.
- Process and fulfill database access requests through ServiceNow.
- Support security audits, compliance reviews, and risk remediation activities.
- Ensure all access provisioning and modifications adhere to security policies and regulatory requirements.

Database Technologies Experience supporting one or more of the following platforms:

- Oracle Database
- Microsoft SQL Server
- IBM Db2 (UDB)
- Snowflake
- PostgreSQL
- MySQL
- Other enterprise database platforms

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks.
- Experience working with audit, risk, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively across DBA, Security, Cloud, Infrastructure, and Application teams
