Must-Haves

- 7+ years of experience as an SDET, Test Automation Engineer, or Software Engineer focused on automation.
- Strong TypeScript/JavaScript coding experience, with TypeScript preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch.
- Strong UI/web automation experience. Environment is approximately 70% UI / 30% API automation.
- Experience creating and maintaining automated regression test suites.
- Experience integrating automated testing into GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with API and backend testing, including REST/GraphQL.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile, and modern software engineering practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Experience using AI coding tools for automation development, such as Cursor or Kiro.

Plusses

- eCommerce experience, including checkout, payments, loyalty, or guest-facing applications.
- BrowserStack experience. Sauce Labs experience is also relevant.
- Previous software development experience or a strong development background.

Our client is seeking an SDET to design, build, and scale automated testing solutions across a large eCommerce web ecosystem. This role is heavily focused on software development in support of test automation, automated regression testing, and CI/CD integration.

The adecuado candidate is a strong hands-on engineer who can build automation frameworks, write high-quality automation code, and improve quality and release velocity.

Day-to-Day

- Design, build, and maintain automation frameworks and test suites.
- Develop automated UI, API, regression, integration, and end-to-end tests.
- Build primarily web/UI automation while also supporting API automation.
- Integrate automated testing into GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Partner with Developers, QA, Product, and DevOps teams throughout the SDLC.
- Analyze test failures, investigate defects, and improve automation reliability.
- Support release readiness and automated quality gates.
- Increase automation coverage and reduce manual testing efforts.
