You will play a crucial role in elevating the wine program and enhancing the overall dining experience for patrons of this prestigious restaurant, even if not physically present on-site daily.
Key Responsibilities Develop, curate, and manage an exceptional and diverse wine list, considering the restaurant's cuisine and target market.
Source wines from reputable distributors and manage inventory, cellar organization, and purchasing.
Provide expert wine recommendations and pairings to guests, utilizing virtual or telephonic consultations as needed.
Educate and train front-of-house staff on wine knowledge, service standards, and tasting notes.
Conduct wine tastings and educational sessions for staff and potentially for private events (remotely or in person as required).
Monitor wine trends and identify new opportunities to enhance the wine program.
Manage wine-related costs and contribute to the profitability of the beverage program.
Ensure proper wine storage and serving temperatures.
Collaborate with the Head Chef and management on menu development and wine list updates.
Maintain relationships with wine suppliers and attend relevant industry
