We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of automotive components, with a focus on 3 D modeling, surface design, mechanical part design, and product integration. The adecuado candidate will have experience with CATIA V5, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;), and mechanical design principles, preferably within the automotive industry. Responsibilities: Analyze customer specifications, technical requirements, and applicable engineering standards. Lead the 3 D design and development of mechanical components and assemblies using CATIA V5, including Generative Shape Design (GSD) and Part Design. Develop and optimize plastic components, ensuring feasibility for injection molding and manufacturing. Create and validate 2 D engineering drawings in accordance with applicable standards. Perform GD&T; analysis according to ASME Y14.5 and conduct tolerance stack-up studies. Evaluate design feasibility considering assembly, tooling, manufacturing processes, finishing, and product integration. Perform or support structural, modal, and preliminary thermal analyses as required. Collaborate with optical, electronic, manufacturing, quality, and project teams to ensure product integration. Prepare technical justifications, design reviews, and engineering documentation. Identify technical risks, propose design solutions,



and drive resolution of complex engineering issues. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the design team. Ensure deliverables meet customer expectations, quality standards, and project milestones. Mandatory Skills Description: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. experience in mechanical design, preferably in the automotive industry. Advanced proficiency in CATIA V5, particularly Generative Shape Design (GSD) and Part Design for plastic components. Strong knowledge of GD&T; in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and tolerance stack-up analysis. Ability to analyze technical requirements, solve engineering problems, and deliver design solutions within project timelines. Knowledge of plastic injection molding, mold design, assembly tolerances, and finishing processes such as metallization, aluminization, and coatings. Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), including static and modal analysis. Basic understanding of thermal and optical analysis. Experience supporting product validation activities, including Design Validation (DV), Product Validation (PV), leak testing, vibration testing, and thermal cycling.
