Location: Mexico City, Mexico

Employment Type: Contract

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Android Consultant to join our client's team in the technology sector. In this role, you will contribute to assessing client needs, recommending solutions, and leading or contributing to mobile engagements, from architecture and delivery to modernization and team enablement.

Responsibilities

- Engage directly with client stakeholders to understand business goals and translate them into mobile technical solutions.
- Assess existing Android applications and deliver actionable recommendations (architecture, performance, security, scalability, UX).
- Design and implement Android solutions, setting architecture and best-practice standards for client teams.
- Lead technical workshops, demos, and presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support modernization initiatives (legacy Java/XML to Kotlin/Compose, monolith to modular, cross-platform migrations).
- Produce clear documentation, estimates, status reports, and technical proposals.
- Mentor client and internal engineers; promote knowledge transfer and sustainable delivery.
- Collaborate with iOS, backend, QA, and data teams to ensure end-to-end solution quality.

Requirements

- 3 years of Android development experience, with demonstrated delivery of production apps.
- Expert-level Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Android architecture patterns.
- Experience in consulting, client-facing, or cross-functional leadership roles.

- Strong written and verbal English; ability to present and explain technical trade-offs clearly.
- Ability to frame technical decisions in terms of business outcomes (cost, risk, time to market, user impact).
- Proven experience with testing strategy, CI/CD, and release processes.
- Comfort working in ambiguous environments and managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience leading Android and/or iOS teams.
- Exposure to Flutter, Kotlin Multiplatform, or other cross-platform frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud/backend integration (REST, GraphQL, Azure/AWS/GCP) and mobile security standards.
- Experience applying generative AI and agentic tooling to mobile engineering workflows.
- Relevant certifications (Google, Azure, Scrum, or AI-related).
