About the Role

Our client is looking for a Senior Field Agronomist to lead integrated crop management initiatives in Toluca, State of Mexico . This key position involves overseeing all aspects of crop production, from planning and planting to harvesting and post-harvest analysis, with a focus on maximizing yield and quality while ensuring sustainable practices. The idóneo candidate will possess extensive knowledge of regional crops, soil science, pest and disease management, and advanced agronomic techniques. You will be instrumental in guiding the farm operations towards greater efficiency and profitability, acting as a technical expert and mentor to the field teams. This role requires a strong understanding of the local agricultural challenges and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement comprehensive agronomic plans for various crops in the Toluca region.
- Oversee daily farm operations, including planting, irrigation, fertilization, and pest/disease control.
- Conduct regular field assessments to monitor crop health, growth, and identify potential issues.
- Manage integrated pest management (IPM) programs, recommending and supervising control measures.
- Optimize soil fertility and nutrient management strategies based on soil analysis and crop needs.
- Supervise and train field staff, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency.
- Analyze production data to evaluate crop performance, identify trends, and implement improvements.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainable agricultural practices.




- Collaborate with researchers and suppliers to adopt new technologies and methodologies.
- Manage farm equipment and ensure its proper maintenance and operation.
- Prepare detailed reports on crop progress, resource utilization, and financial performance.
- Provide technical support and expertise to farm managers and operational teams.

Requirements

- Master's degree or equivalent in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in field agronomy and crop management.
- Proven expertise in managing diverse crop types common to the State of Mexico .
- Strong knowledge of soil science, plant physiology, entomology, and phytopathology.
- Demonstrated experience with IPM strategies and sustainable farming practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and agricultural software.
- Ability to work effectively in a physically demanding field environment under varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the operational areas around Toluca .
- Fluency in Spanish is essential.
