About the Role

Our client, a prestigious cultural institution located in the vibrant city of Saltillo, Coahuila , is seeking a highly experienced and passionate Senior Art Exhibition Curator to join their dynamic team. Key Responsibilities

- Conceptualize, research, and develop innovative exhibition proposals aligned with the institution's mission and audience.
- Manage all aspects of exhibition planning, from initial concept and budget development to installation and deinstallation.
- Liaise with artists, galleries, private collectors, and other institutions to secure loans of artworks.
- Write compelling exhibition texts, catalogue essays, and interpretive materials for various audiences.
- Develop and manage exhibition budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and adherence to financial targets.
- Oversee the design, layout, and installation of exhibitions, collaborating with designers and registrars.
- Engage with the public through lectures, tours, and other educational programming related to exhibitions.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and long-term vision of the curatorial department.
- Stay abreast of current scholarship,



artistic practices, and trends in the art world.
- Mentor and guide junior curatorial staff and interns.

Requirements

- Master's degree or PhD in Art History, Curatorial Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in exhibition curation, preferably within a museum or gallery setting.
- Proven track record of developing and realizing significant exhibitions with successful outcomes.
- Extensive knowledge of art history across various periods and cultures, with a specialization in a relevant area.
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in budget management and fundraising.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience in building relationships with artists, lenders, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in Spanish is essential; knowledge of English is highly desirable.
