About the Role

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze complex industrial risks, including manufacturing plants, energy facilities, and infrastructure projects.
- Evaluate policy applications, assess potential hazards, and determine the insurability of risks.
- Develop and negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing for large industrial insurance policies.
- Collaborate with brokers and agents to understand client needs and present tailored underwriting solutions.
- Conduct site inspections and risk assessments (where feasible remotely or through designated local partners) to gain a comprehensive understanding of operations.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of industrial processes, safety standards, and relevant regulations.
- Monitor the performance of the underwriting portfolio, ensuring profitability and adherence to company guidelines.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior underwriters.




- Contribute to the development of new underwriting strategies and tools for industrial risks.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in underwriting, with a strong specialization in industrial or commercial property risks.
- Proven expertise in evaluating complex industrial operations and associated hazards.
- In‑depth knowledge of various industrial sectors (e.g., manufacturing, energy, construction, chemicals).
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong negotiation and communication abilities, with the capacity to articulate complex risk assessments clearly.
- Proficiency in underwriting software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and manage a demanding workload effectively in a remote setting.
