About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Ingeniero de Exploración Geofísica to join their fully remote team, contributing to groundbreaking exploration projects in the hidrocarburos sector. This position, based ideally within Mexico but fully remote, allows professionals to leverage their expertise in seismic data interpretation, geological modeling, and prospect evaluation from anywhere. The role is essential for identifying and assessing potential hydrocarbon resources through sophisticated geophysical analysis. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced geophysicist to work flexibly while making a significant impact on resource discovery.

Key Responsibilities

- Interpreting seismic data (2D/3D) to identify geological structures and stratigraphic features relevant to hydrocarbon exploration.
- Building and refining subsurface geological models using integrated geophysical and well data.
- Evaluating exploration prospects, assessing risks, and estimating potential hydrocarbon volumes.
- Utilizing advanced geophysical software and techniques for data processing and interpretation.
- Collaborating with geologists, reservoir engineers, and other geoscientists in a remote setting.
- Contributing to exploration strategy development and portfolio management.
- Preparing technical reports, maps, and presentations for exploration teams and management.
- Staying updated on the latest advancements in geophysical technologies and methodologies.
- Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and providing geophysical input.




- Ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the exploration workflow.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Geophysics, Geology, or a related earth science discipline.
- A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in seismic data interpretation and subsurface modeling within the hidrocarburos industry.
- Proficiency with industry-standard geophysical interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite, GeoGraphix).
- Strong understanding of seismic data acquisition, processing, and attribute analysis.
- Experience in prospect risk assessment and resource estimation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English.
- A dedicated home office setup with reliable high-speed internet access is required.
- Demonstrated experience in basin analysis or regional studies is a plus.
