About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and experienced Especialista en Gerencia de Proyectos de Hidrocarburos to lead and manage diverse projects within the energy sector. Based in the strategic location of Mexicali, Baja California , this role is crucial for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of capital projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities

- Leading the end-to-end management of hydrocarbon projects, from initiation to closure.
- Developing detailed project plans, including scope, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Coordinating with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
- Managing project risks, identifying potential issues, and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Monitoring project progress, tracking key performance indicators, and reporting on status to senior management.
- Ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Managing project budgets, controlling costs, and approving expenditures.
- Overseeing procurement, contract management, and vendor performance.
- Facilitating effective communication among all project participants.
- Conducting post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.





Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical) or a related technical field.
- A Master's degree or PMP certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in project management, specifically within the hidrocarburos or energy sector.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex capital projects from conception to completion.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies (e.g., PMI, Agile), and tools.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- In-depth knowledge of the technical, operational, and regulatory aspects of the hidrocarburos industry.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing large project budgets.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment in Mexicali, Baja California .
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
