This is the first sales hire at a small startup, so the job is to start conversations with senior people in collections, credit and customer experience at Latin American banks and fintechs, then turn them into booked meetings. A strong candidate writes short messages people answer, qualifies leads carefully, keeps good records, and is comfortable building a process from scratch. Fluent Spanish, Portuguese and professional English are required.

How it fits the AI era

AI tools can now handle much of the research and first-draft outreach, so the person in this role is expected to automate their own prospecting and test messages quickly. What stays human is judgment about who to target, building trust with senior buyers, running a good discovery conversation and owning the next step. The company sells AI agents, so the buyers will often be curious or cautious about the technology, and the rep needs to talk about it clearly.

The role offers hands-on practice using AI tools for prospecting and outreach, plus a close look at how voice and WhatsApp agents are sold into banks and call centers. Someone could prepare by trying tools like Claude, ChatGPT, Clay or Apollo on a real prospecting project and learning how automated collections conversations work. Sitting in on pilots would show how these systems are tested in a real financial setting.
