About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer specializing in Bridges and Structures to join their esteemed engineering team in Oaxaca City, Oaxaca . This critical role involves the design, analysis, and supervision of construction for bridges, overpasses, and other complex structural elements within transportation and infrastructure projects. You will be instrumental in ensuring the integrity, safety, and longevity of these vital structures. The adecuado candidate possesses deep knowledge of structural analysis, materials science, and construction methods specific to bridges and large-scale structures. This is an on-site position requiring dedicated fieldwork and collaboration within the project environment. You will be working on projects that significantly enhance the region's connectivity and development.

Key Responsibilities

- Design bridges (beam, arch, suspension, etc.), overpasses, culverts, and other transportation structures.
- Perform structural analysis using advanced software to assess load capacities, stresses, and strains.
- Develop detailed design drawings, specifications, and construction plans for structural projects.
- Ensure designs comply with national and international codes and standards for bridges and structures (e.g., AASHTO, NTC).
- Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies for new bridge and structure projects.
- Provide technical oversight and supervision during the construction phase, ensuring adherence to design and quality standards.
- Review contractor submittals, including shop drawings and material certifications.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, architects,



contractors, and other engineering disciplines.
- Assess existing structures for rehabilitation or retrofitting needs.
- Prepare technical reports, cost estimations, and project documentation.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with a strong emphasis on Structural or Bridge Engineering.
- A Master's degree is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in the design and analysis of bridges and complex structures.
- Expertise in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, CSiBridge, MIDAS Civil).
- Thorough knowledge of materials science, including concrete, steel, and composite materials used in construction.
- Familiarity with seismic design principles and codes relevant to the region.
- Proven experience in overseeing bridge construction projects.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a project team.
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to Oaxaca City, Oaxaca.
