About the Role

Our client, a specialized pediatric care facility in Culiacán, Sinaloa , is seeking a dedicated Especialista en Pedagogía Hospitalaria y Apoyo Educativo a Niños con Discapacidades. This critical role involves providing educational support and continuity to children who are patients in the hospital, as well as those with ongoing disabilities. The goal is to ensure that learning continues despite illness or developmental challenges, fostering resilience and minimizing educational setbacks. Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement individualized educational plans for hospitalized children and children with disabilities.
- Provide direct instruction and learning support in various settings (hospital rooms, specialized centers).
- Collaborate closely with medical staff, therapists, and parents to understand each child's needs and capabilities.
- Adapt teaching materials and methods to suit the child's health status, learning style, and developmental level.
- Facilitate age-appropriate learning activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of educational progress and interventions.
- Advocate for the educational needs of children within the healthcare system.




- Provide emotional support and encouragement to children and their families during challenging times.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans.
- Stay current with best practices in hospital pedagogy and special education.

Requirements

- Degree in Special Education, Pedagogy, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience working with children in a hospital setting or with children with disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of various disabilities and learning challenges.
- Experience in developing individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and empathy skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Patience, resilience, and a compassionate approach to working with children and families.
- Knowledge of play therapy or art therapy techniques is a plus.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR.
