About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Ingeniero Agrónomo Especialista en Cultivos de Alto Valor to join their innovative team in Zapopan, Jalisco . This role is crucial for managing and enhancing the cultivation of specialized crops that require meticulous attention to detail and advanced agronomic knowledge. The successful candidate will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of these high-value crops, from planning and planting to harvesting and post-harvest handling. Key Responsibilities

- Plan, execute, and monitor cultivation programs for high-value crops, ensuring optimal growth conditions and yields.
- Implement advanced horticultural and agronomic techniques tailored to specific crop requirements.
- Conduct detailed soil analysis, nutrient management, and pest and disease control strategies.
- Oversee irrigation systems, ensuring efficient water use and plant health.
- Manage post-harvest processes, including quality assessment, packaging, and storage, to maintain product integrity.
- Collaborate with research and development teams to test and integrate new crop varieties and farming methodologies.
- Maintain comprehensive records of field trials, crop performance, and operational data.
- Supervise and train farm personnel on best practices for handling high-value crops.




- Ensure compliance with all relevant agricultural regulations, certifications, and sustainability standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with crop production, environmental factors, and market fluctuations.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of hands‑on experience in the cultivation of high‑value crops (e.g., berries, exotic fruits, specialty vegetables).
- Proven expertise in soil science, plant physiology, integrated pest management, and irrigation systems.
- Experience with greenhouse or controlled environment agriculture is a strong asset.
- Familiarity with quality control protocols and post‑harvest handling techniques.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data for decision‑making.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Knowledge of local agricultural practices and challenges in Jalisco .
- Proficiency in relevant software for farm management and data analysis.

- Must be willing to split time between field operations and office‑based planning in Zapopan .
