About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Chemical Engineer to lead the design of sustainable processes. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere. You will focus on developing environmentally friendly and resource-efficient chemical processes, incorporating principles of green chemistry and circular economy. Your responsibilities will include evaluating new technologies, optimizing existing processes for reduced environmental impact, and conducting life cycle assessments. This role requires a strong understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals, sustainability metrics, and a passion for creating a positive environmental impact. You will collaborate with a integral team of experts on projects that aim to redefine sustainable chemical manufacturing. Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop novel chemical processes with a focus on sustainability, resource efficiency, and reduced environmental footprint.
- Evaluate and implement green chemistry principles and circular economy concepts in process design.
- Conduct life cycle assessments (LCAs) to quantify the environmental impact of chemical processes.
- Optimize existing processes to minimize waste generation, energy consumption, and emissions.
- Research and identify emerging sustainable technologies relevant to the chemical industry.
- Collaborate with R&D;, engineering, and operations teams to integrate sustainable solutions.
- Develop process models and simulations to predict the performance and environmental benefits of proposed designs.
- Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and presentations on sustainable process initiatives.




- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote best practices in sustainability.
- Mentor junior engineers on the principles and application of sustainable chemical engineering.

Requirements

- Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering with a specialization or significant focus on sustainability, green chemistry, or environmental engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical process design and development, with demonstrated experience in sustainable practices.
- Strong knowledge of life cycle assessment methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with green chemistry principles and their application in process design.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus) and data analysis tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
- Passion for environmental stewardship and sustainable development.
- Experience with renewable energy sources or bio-based chemical processes is an advantage.
