Key Responsibilities

- Analyze and underwrite complex commercial insurance applications, assessing risks and determining appropriate coverage and pricing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and agents,



providing expert advice and support.
- Adhere to underwriting guidelines, authority levels, and company best practices.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling relevant insurance products.
- Collaborate with claims, legal, and product development teams to ensure comprehensive risk management.
- Monitor the profitability and performance of assigned book of business.
- Conduct market analysis to stay informed about industry trends and competitive landscape.
- Mentor and guide junior underwriters, sharing knowledge and expertise.
- Approve or decline risks within established underwriting authority.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting (e.g., Property, Casualty, Liability, Workers' Compensation).
- Proven ability to underwrite complex risks and make sound judgments.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance products, policy forms, and relevant regulations.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, effective for remote collaboration.
- Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and manage a demanding workload in a remote setting.
- Professional designations (e.g., AU, CPCU or equivalent) are a strong advantage.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Mexico and comfortable working remotely.
