About the Role

Our client, a dynamic urban planning and design firm, is seeking a skilled Architect with a passion for Urban Design and Public Space Renovation to join their team in Mexicali, Baja California. This role focuses on envisioning and implementing transformative projects that enhance the livability, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of urban environments. The adecuado candidate will have a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in urban planning, landscape design integration, and community-focused public space development. You will work on projects ranging from revitalizing downtown areas to designing new public parks and plazas, contributing to the shaping of a more vibrant and sustainable Mexicali. Key Responsibilities Develop conceptual designs and master plans for urban regeneration projects and public spaces. Design public parks, plazas, streetscapes, and pedestrian-friendly environments. Collaborate with urban planners, landscape architects, engineers, and community groups. Ensure designs are sensitive to local context, culture, and environmental conditions. Prepare detailed drawings, renderings, and presentations to communicate urban design concepts. Oversee the implementation of urban design projects, coordinating with contractors and stakeholders. Conduct site analyses and research relevant urban design theories and best practices.



Advocate for sustainable urban design principles, including green infrastructure and climate resilience. Ensure compliance with local zoning ordinances and urban development guidelines in Baja California. Engage with stakeholders to gather input and foster community support for urban revitalization initiatives. Requirements Degree in Architecture with a specialization in Urban Design or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in urban design, public space design, or related fields. Strong portfolio showcasing successful urban design and public space projects. Proficiency in architectural and urban design software (e.g., Auto CAD, Sketch Up, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite). Excellent understanding of urban planning principles, landscape architecture, and environmental design. Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively on multiple projects and meet deadlines. Familiarity with the urban context and development challenges in Mexicali, Baja California is an asset.
