Great matching candidates will have eight or more years' engineering experience in the engineering field of Turbomachinery analysis with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
In this job, you will lead multiple projects with responsibility for moving evaluations from request to completion.
The candidate will be required to communicate effectively with team members and management, utilizing verbal skills as well as written documents including plans, reports, and presentations.Job DutiesProvide technical leadership for more junior members of the engineering teamPerform, review, and mentor activities that include knowledge of the following: mechanical analysis, gas turbine engine component design, hand calculations, engineering documentation composition, component durability assessment, and engine manufacturing / build and testImplement product definition criteria in accordance with requirements for commercial attributes associated with producibility/manufacturability of the componentThe Senior Engineer will oversee and mentor the design of components and systems for Turbomachinery technology which mainly includes hardware such as brackets, ducts, tubes, hoses and harnessesManage and maintain projects in priority status as assigned by program managementMaintain, report,



and communicate project status and progress to both internal program management team and customerMonitor and report progress against project schedule by monitoring activities and resolving problems to ensure that customer Project Milestones are metOrganize and maintain existing engineering recordsPerform other such duties as requiredRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical EngineeringEight or more years of engineering experience in the field of gas turbine engines or turbomachinery, specialty on Engine externals design and/or analysisKnowledge of Finite Element Method (FEM)Experience using structural simulation software, ANSYS classic, ANSYS Workbench, SimSolid, OptistructExperience in any of the following: Specialty on Engine externals design/analysis, fans, compressors, compressor wheels, compressor blades, compressor vanes, combustors, turbine wheels, turbine blades, turbine vanes, cases/housings, gears and gearboxes or toolingAbility to write technical reports and correspondence including customer reportsAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organizationAbility to coordinate and lead in a team environmentMust be fluent in English and Spanish (conversational and written)Preferred Qualifications & SkillsPrior GE experienceExperience using ANSYS classic and WorkbenchExperience with Team Center is desiredKnowledge of other FEA softwareWe provide a competitive pay and benefits package.
