Senior MS SQL DBA Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Support interdisciplinary projects involving large numbers of developers and consultants,

while working very tightly with our internal IT Services team

Identify automation opportunities and drive automation to increase database, data stores

and data pipelines performance and value-add

Drive and champion database best practices, their knowledge management and facilitate training to platform teams on database technologies and data integration methodologies

Facilitate effective communication with client project stakeholders regarding project status and recommendations.

Actively participate in accurate planning and estimation efforts, utilizing project methods and tools.

Proficiently gather requirements and organize/present developed features for clients.

Execute complex activities within the current methodology and quality standards, showcasing success across diverse engagements.

Engage in agile software development, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, team retrospectives, and other governance activities.

Independently drive project delivery within defined architecture, demonstrating autonomy and accountability in all stages from conceptualization to deployment.

Read and write Cloud Development Kit (CDK)



code in Python to support infrastructure deployment.

Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of 5+ years of experience/expertise in the following areas specified below*:

SQL Database

SQL RDS

Nice to have postgresql

Build database solutions of high availability and quality align to internal stakeholder requirements

Configure, maintain, optimize databases and ensure data access and infrastructure controls are in place to safeguard against data losses and data breaches

Assist developers in identifying and correcting database-related issues. Support platform owners in driving efficiency of database procedures for responsible business applications

Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards

Manage and monitor DB performance, database health and security posture

Perform regular database maintenance, patches, data quality checks and troubleshooting activities

Experience in Agile software development methodologies.

Proficiency in the English language.

Strong understanding of MS SQL Server architecture and administration.

Good understanding of AWS services, specifically EC2 and RDS.

Good understanding of related Microsoft technologies, such as Active Directory.

Location preference for candidates based in South and Central America.

Bachelors or masters degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Information

Technology, or related quantitative field

AWS Certified: AWS Database Specialty

Microsoft Certified:



Azure Database Administrator Associate

5+ years of relevant working experience, preferably in the financial industry

Practical experience of at least one common Enterprise Agile Framework e.g., Kanban, AFe, SCRUM, etc.

Practical experience with Database Access Management and Database Security (DB Hardening, DB Audit, DB Policies, etc.)

Practical experience with MS SQL Server database administration including management

of
