Job Summary

The “Buyer Direct” will be based in Flex North, reporting to Purchasing Manager Direct. This role is responsible for procuring direct materials, components, and equipment to support production requirements while ensuring material availability, inventory optimization, and supplier performance.

Typical day looks like:

- Maintain effective relationships with suppliers and ensure alignment on delivery, quality, and pricing expectations.
- Place, reschedule, and cancel purchase orders based on production requirements, requisitions, and MRP output.
- Review and manage order confirmations, purchase orders, and production plan changes.
- Track material shipments and expedite deliveries when necessary to avoid shortages.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages, excess inventory, and material obsolescence.
- Review critical material inventory and resolve inventory discrepancies with warehouse teams.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, warehouses, and logistics providers to support material flow.
- Manage supplier claims, debit/credit issues, invoice approvals and RTV process.
- Maintain procurement records, reports, metrics, and purchasing documentation.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier information including pricing, availability, and lead times.
- Monitor material movement throughout the production cycle and support continuity of supply.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews and elevate issues when required.
- Ensure compliance with purchasing policies, data privacy requirements, and business procedures.





Experience we’re looking to add to our team:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with MRP/ERP systems and inventory management processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong understanding of purchasing, supplier management, inventory control, and logistics processes.
- Ability to analyze data, resolve issues, and make sound business decisions.
- English Advanced.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.
