About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and self-motivated Network Infrastructure Specialist to join their entirely remote team. This position is crucial for the ongoing maintenance, optimization, and enhancement of our client's extensive telecommunications network. Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and manage robust network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and WAN/LAN technologies.
- Monitor network health and performance using advanced tools, identifying and resolving potential issues proactively.
- Ensure network security by implementing and maintaining firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
- Develop and execute disaster recovery and business continuity plans for network infrastructure.
- Automate network management tasks and deployments through scripting and relevant tools.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate network infrastructure with cloud environments and other systems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and inventories.
- Stay abreast of emerging network technologies and best practices, recommending improvements to the infrastructure.




- Provide technical guidance and support to junior network engineers and IT staff.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in network infrastructure management within the telecommunications industry.
- Expertise in routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), switching technologies, and network segmentation (VLANs).
- Proficiency with network security principles and implementation of security devices.
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., SNMP, NetFlow, Wireshark).
- Experience with cloud networking platforms (AWS, Azure) is highly desirable.
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Ansible) for network automation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, effective in a remote team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively in an autonomous setting.
