About the Role

Our client, a beloved artisan bakery and patisserie in the heart of Morelia, Michoacán, is looking for a talented and imaginative Pastry Chef. Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and execute a wide range of pastries, desserts, cakes, and bread items.
- Create visually stunning and delicious baked goods that align with the brand's artisanal quality.
- Manage the daily operations of the pastry section, including production planning and scheduling.
- Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all pastry items.
- Source and manage high-quality ingredients, maintaining inventory and minimizing waste.
- Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation standards.
- Collaborate with the head baker and management on menu development and seasonal specials.
- Train and supervise junior pastry staff, imparting skills and knowledge.
- Experiment with new flavors, techniques, and presentation styles.

Requirements

- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Senior Pastry Cook in a reputable bakery, hotel, or restaurant.
- Formal training in pastry arts or a related culinary field is a strong plus.
- Exceptional artistic talent and a keen eye for detail in presentation.
- Deep understanding of baking and pastry techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles.
- Proficiency in creating laminated doughs, custards, creams, chocolates, and sugar work.
- Experience in managing inventory and controlling food costs.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Creative and innovative mindset with a passion for continuous learning.
- Ability to work versátil hours, including early mornings and weekends, based in Morelia, Michoacán.
