About the Role

Our client, an innovative arts collective and incubator space located in Culiacán, Sinaloa, MX , is seeking a versatile and experimental Artista Visual - Multimedia y Nuevos Medios . This hybrid role involves both studio-based creative work and remote digital engagement. The artist will be instrumental in developing and producing projects that explore the intersections of art, technology, and society, utilizing a range of media including video, digital installation, interactive art, VR/AR, and sound art. The idóneo candidate will have a strong conceptual practice, a demonstrated ability to work across disciplines, and a passion for exploring the potential of new technologies in artistic expression. You will contribute to a collaborative environment, share your practice with the community, and potentially mentor emerging artists. Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute a personal body of artistic work in multimedia and new media practices.
- Conceptualize and create projects involving video art, digital installations, interactive media, sound art, and/or virtual/augmented reality.
- Collaborate with other artists, technologists, and researchers on interdisciplinary projects.
- Manage studio resources, technical equipment, and project budgets.
- Maintain and troubleshoot technical setups for exhibitions and installations.
- Participate in critique sessions, artist talks, and community outreach programs.
- Research and stay abreast of advancements in new media technologies and contemporary art practices.
- Document and archive artwork and project processes effectively.




- Contribute to the collective's programming and strategic development, both remotely and in person.

Requirements

- Master of Fine Arts (MFA) or equivalent professional experience in New Media Art, Digital Art, Media Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience creating and exhibiting work in multimedia and new media art forms.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual depth and technical proficiency across various digital and interactive media.
- Proficiency in relevant software and hardware, such as video editing suites, coding environments (e.g., Processing, Max/MSP), game engines (e.g., Unity), VR/AR platforms, and audio production tools.
- Experience with digital fabrication, electronics, sensors, and interactive installations is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to evolving technological landscapes.
- Strong communication and collaborative abilities, suitable for both remote and in-person teamwork.
- Ability to manage independent projects and contribute effectively to group initiatives.
- Must be comfortable working in a hybrid capacity, with responsibilities in the studio and remotely based in Culiacán, Sinaloa, MX .
