About the Role

Our client is a pioneering biotechnology firm dedicated to advancing human health through cutting-edge genomic and proteomic research. We are looking for a Senior Bioinformatician to join our Research and Development team. This vital role involves analyzing complex biological datasets, developing novel computational methods, and contributing to the discovery of biomarkers and therapeutic targets. The position is based in the vibrant coastal city of Acapulco, Guerrero , offering a unique blend of challenging scientific work and an inspiring location. Key Responsibilities

- Analyze next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, including whole-genome, exome, and RNA-seq data.
- Perform comparative genomics, identify genetic variations, and annotate genomic features.
- Develop and apply computational pipelines for the analysis of proteomic and transcriptomic data.
- Integrate multi-omics data (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics) to derive biological insights.
- Develop and implement statistical and machine learning models for biomarker discovery and disease subtyping.
- Collaborate with experimental biologists, clinicians, and other bioinformaticians to interpret results and design future experiments.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of bioinformatics databases and tools.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in bioinformatics, genomics, proteomics, and related fields.
- Present findings at internal meetings and external scientific conferences.
- Ensure data quality, reproducibility,



and adherence to best practices in computational biology.

Requirements

- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in analyzing large-scale genomic and/or proteomic datasets.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, Perl, or Java.
- Strong experience with bioinformatics tools, databases (e.g., Ensembl, UCSC Genome Browser), and statistical software.
- Familiarity with NGS data analysis platforms and common analytical workflows.
- Experience with common command-line tools and high-performance computing environments.
- Solid understanding of molecular biology, genetics, and/or proteomics.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with data visualization techniques is a plus.
