About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding technology firm, is seeking a highly skilled Legal Advisor with specialization in Intellectual Property (IP) and Litigation. This role is pivotal in safeguarding the company's innovations, managing its IP portfolio, and navigating complex legal disputes. The idóneo candidate will possess a strong understanding of IP law, patent prosecution, trademark registration, and IP litigation strategies. This is a remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work with a forward-thinking company, with key connections to our operational base in Puebla, Puebla .

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and protect the company's intellectual property assets, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
- Conduct IP due diligence for potential investments, mergers, and acquisitions.
- Oversee the prosecution of patent and trademark applications globally.
- Develop and implement IP strategy to support business objectives.
- Advise on IP-related agreements, licensing, and technology transfer.
- Represent the company in IP litigation matters, including patent and trademark infringement cases.
- Manage external IP counsel and ensure cost-effective handling of IP matters.
- Monitor the competitive IP landscape and advise on potential infringement risks.
- Conduct freedom-to-operate analyses.
- Provide legal counsel on data privacy and technology law matters as needed.

Requirements

- Law degree (Licenciatura en Derecho)



from a reputable institution; admission to the Mexican Bar is required.
- An LL.M. in Intellectual Property or related field is a significant advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience focused on intellectual property law, including prosecution and litigation.
- Proven experience in managing patent and trademark portfolios.
- Strong understanding of Mexican and international IP laws and treaties.
- Demonstrated experience in handling IP litigation, including drafting pleadings, managing discovery, and engaging in settlement negotiations.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and negotiation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
- Experience working in a technology-driven industry is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote environment.
- Proficiency in English is required.
