About the Role

WhatJobs Direct is searching for a highly specialized Farmacéutico/a Clínico en Oncología to join the dedicated cancer treatment team at a leading medical center in Zapopan, Jalisco . This demanding role requires expert knowledge in chemotherapy administration, management of side effects, and the safe handling of hazardous drugs. The clinical pharmacist will collaborate closely with oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal and safe patient care throughout their treatment journey. This is an in-person position within the hospital setting in Zapopan, Jalisco . The ideal candidate possesses strong clinical judgment, exceptional communication skills, and a deep commitment to improving the lives of cancer patients.

Key Responsibilities

- Review and interpret oncology prescriptions, ensuring accuracy, safety, and appropriateness of therapy.
- Compound and dispense chemotherapy and supportive care medications following strict safety protocols.
- Provide direct patient care services, including patient and family education regarding cancer therapies and side effect management.
- Participate in multidisciplinary oncology rounds and case conferences.
- Monitor patients for therapeutic efficacy, adverse drug reactions, and drug interactions.
- Manage and optimize the oncology formulary in collaboration with the oncology team.




- Ensure compliance with all regulations and guidelines pertaining to the handling and administration of hazardous drugs.
- Engage in research activities and contribute to evidence-based practice within the oncology pharmacy department.

Requirements

- Doctorate degree in Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or equivalent.
- Completion of a PGY-2 Pharmacy Residency in Oncology is highly preferred.
- Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) is a significant advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing as a clinical pharmacist in an oncology setting.
- Expertise in chemotherapy regimens, supportive care, and management of treatment-related toxicities.
- Proficiency in sterile compounding techniques and handling of hazardous medications.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Licensure to practice pharmacy in Jalisco required.
