About the Role

WhatJobs Direct is seeking an accomplished and visionary Jefe de Desarrollo de Nuevos Productos Farmacéuticos to lead cutting-edge innovation efforts for a prominent pharmaceutical company. Key Responsibilities

- Define and execute the strategic vision for the company's new product development pipeline.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of scientists and project managers across various R&D; disciplines.
- Oversee all phases of drug development, including target identification, lead optimization, pre-clinical studies, and clinical trial design.
- Ensure robust scientific integrity and adherence to all regulatory requirements throughout the development process.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation effectively to meet strategic objectives.
- Foster strong collaborations with academic institutions, biotechnology partners, and contract research organizations (CROs).
- Prepare and present development plans,



progress reports, and regulatory submissions to senior management and health authorities.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies and therapeutic areas for potential development opportunities.

Requirements

- Advanced degree (Ph.D. or M.D.) in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology).
- 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D;, with a significant portion in leadership roles managing drug development programs.
- Demonstrated success in bringing at least one pharmaceutical product from discovery to market approval.
- Expertise in multiple therapeutic areas and a broad understanding of drug discovery and development processes.
- Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and project management skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate diverse teams.
- In-depth knowledge of general regulatory affairs and compliance standards.
- Experience managing external collaborations and partnerships.
