About the Role

Our client, a global leader in chemical innovation, is seeking a highly experienced and self-driven Ingeniero de Procesos Químicos Remoto to join our advanced development team. This fully remote position will be instrumental in optimizing existing chemical processes and overseeing the scale-up of new technologies from conceptualization through pilot and commercial phases. You will leverage state-of-the-art simulation tools, data analytics, and collaborate virtually with cross-functional teams worldwide, including those operating in regions near Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas . The ideal candidate possesses a strong theoretical foundation in chemical engineering, extensive practical experience in process design and optimization, and exceptional remote collaboration skills. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our general chemical operations without the need for relocation.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the optimization of existing chemical manufacturing processes using advanced modeling and simulation techniques.
- Design and manage the scale-up of new chemical processes from laboratory to pilot and commercial stages.
- Conduct thorough process hazard analyses (PHAs) and risk assessments for new and modified processes.
- Develop detailed process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs;), and equipment specifications.
- Analyze process data to identify performance bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate effectively with global R&D;, engineering, and operations teams in a virtual environment.




- Ensure all process designs comply with international safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, feasibility studies, and project proposals.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in chemical process engineering.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technical staff remotely.

Requirements

- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in chemical process development, optimization, and scale-up.
- Expertise in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS, COMSOL).
- Deep understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and separation technologies.
- Proven experience in conducting PHAs and implementing robust safety protocols.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead projects in a fully remote setting.
- Excellent virtual communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
- Fluency in both Spanish and English is required.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for critical project milestones or team meetings.
